CULTURAL HERITAGE OF THE SAINTS OF SILSALA E NAQSHBANDIYA MUJADDADYA
AT RATTAR CHATTAR -MAKANSHARIEF-TEHSIL DERA BABA NANAK- DIST. GURDAS PUR- PUNJAB- INDIA
Before 1947 the majority of population living in Rattar Chattar were muslims. After the partition of India, the muslim population left this village and went to Pakistan. Now majority of the villagers are sikhs and few christians. Currently population of the village is about 1000 persons. It has two Sikh temples (Guruduwars) and one church.
Rattar Chattar is very famous in this region, because of its old muslim mausoleum and its yearly celebration day.
Rattar Chattar, a remote village on the Indo-Pak border, have been preserving approximatly 500-year-old building since Independence. Last year we came to know that this complex was bulit by the family of Syed Imam Ali Shah. For furtherdetail please read ROZA SHARIEF WALEY
Following facilities are available to the residents of Rattar chattar.

I was lucky to locate this website which fulfilled my 70 years old wish to once visit my native place''MAKANSHARIEF''(RATTAR CHATTAR) as we called our village which was so named by HAZRAT BUDHAN SHAH OF KALANAUR out of respect for his saintly guide HAZRAT SHAH HUSSAIN or baba ji PHORAY WALAY(the one whose abode is underground) My visit will be easy if the people here(RATTAR CHATTAR) sponsor me for the VISA.
